JUST SONGS
What do you expect from a song?
Apart from hooks, rhymes and rythm?
Should it be just fun all along?
Or do you expect a voice of reason
to present on the PA
some package-deal philosophy?
Some might be crass enough to care,
you are getting neither of this from me.
Sometimes the means become the ends.
So do the words that I spend
on ears that rarely comprehend
that these songs are just songs in the end.
Was it a chicken or the egg?
The music or the message?
Which ought to take the preferrence?
Which is there just to compliment your image?
Is it what you say or what you play
that should make the difference?
I see no point in pretending
that I can in either way excite your interest.
Sometimes the means become the ends.
So do the words that I spend
on ears that rarely comprehend
that these songs are just words in the end.
That these songs are just sum of my life, in the end.
